Ringo Válvulas will provide two butterfly 72” control valves for the water control system for Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant. For reaching a process control similar to the obtained with the cage-guided globe control valves, Ringo Válvulas has designed an eccentric butterfly, with reduced bore and multi-drilled screens. With this design of multi-drilled screens a precise control of the flow rate is reached, allowing the fluid to follow a previously calculated characteristic curve. Also obtaining the advantages of the multi-hole design such as low flow speed and noise reduction. The calculations of the process characteristics and the sizing of the valve have been made by the control valve software Conval 8. For the 3D modeling and simulations, COSMOSFloWorks 2008 have been used.
